Metric Clevis Pin Dimensions (ISO 2341 / DIN 1444, 3 to 100 mm)
Guide ยท Updated October 28, 2026
ISO 2341 covers metric clevis pins with head (it replaced DIN 1444), 3 to 100 mm. Head, split pin hole and hole distance values agree between the ISO 2341:1986 preview (iTeh) and the Boltport ISO 2341 table for all sizes, and the fasteners.eu ISO 2341 table for 4 to 24 mm (DigiPich copies fasteners.eu and was not counted). Check your supplier for critical work.

Step by step
- Pick the pin diameter: d (h11), 3 to 100 mm.
- Read the head: dk (h14) is the head diameter and k (js14) the head height.
- Read the split pin hole: d1 (H13) equals the nominal split pin size to ISO 1234.
- Check hole position: le min is the least distance from the hole axis to the pin end.
- Order it: Designate as Clevis pin ISO 2341 - B - 20 x 100 - St (type B has the split pin hole).

Worked example: 20 mm clevis pin
A 20 mm ISO 2341 B pin has a 30 mm head, 5 mm tall, a 5 mm split pin hole at least 8 mm from the end, and takes a 20 mm ISO 8738 washer (30 mm OD, 4 mm thick).
Common problems
- Mixed with inch pins: check d; inch pins follow ASME B18.8.1.
- Split pin will not go in: use the split pin size equal to d1.
- Washer on the head end: fit the ISO 8738 washer on the split pin end.
FAQ
What is ISO 2341?
Metric clevis pins with head: type A without and type B with a split pin hole, 3 to 100 mm. It replaced DIN 1444.
How is it different from the ASME clevis pin chart?
The ASME B18.8.1 page is inch sizes. ISO 2341 is metric, with its own head sizes and split pin holes.
Which washer goes with it?
ISO 8738 (DIN 1440) washers, fitted on the split pin end.
Which split pin fits?
The one whose nominal size equals d1, e.g. a 5 mm split pin for a 20 mm pin. ISO 2341 recommends the next larger split pin for railway use or alternating side loads.
What was skipped?
Length ranges and length tolerances (the preview scan is unreadable there), lh and material grades.
