Clevis Pin with Head and Threaded End Dimensions (DIN 1445, 8 to 30 mm)
Guide ยท Updated October 28, 2026
DIN 1445 covers clevis pins with head and threaded stud, 8 to 30 mm. Values agree across the fasteners.eu DIN 1445 table, fasten.it DIN 1445 (2011) and the MBO Osswald DIN 1445 table. Check your supplier for critical work.

Step by step
- Pick the pin size: d1 (h11), 8 to 30 mm.
- Check the thread: d2 is the metric thread on the stud end and b the minimum thread length. A nut holds the pin instead of a split pin.
- Check the head: d3 (h14) is the head diameter, k (js14) the head height and s the width across the two flats that stop it turning.
- Order it: Give d1, the clamp length and the overall length, e.g. Bolzen DIN 1445 - 12 x 30 x 50 - St.

Worked example: 12 mm threaded clevis pin
A 12 mm DIN 1445 pin has an M10 stud with at least 17 mm of thread. The head is 20 mm across and 4 mm high, with 17 mm flats. Clamp it with an M10 nut and washer.
Common problems
- Pin turns when tightening: seat the head flats against a shoulder or key.
- Nut bottoms out: thread length b is a minimum; check the clamp length.
- Joint binds: the nut clamps the clevis, so leave a shoulder if it must pivot.
FAQ
What is DIN 1445?
A clevis pin with a head on one end and a metric threaded stud on the other. A nut clamps it, so it stays tight under vibration where a split pin would rattle.
How is it different from ISO 2341 and ISO 2340?
ISO 2341 has a head and a split pin hole, and ISO 2340 has no head. DIN 1445 swaps the split pin for a thread and adds flats on the head.
Why stop at 30 mm?
DIN 1445:2011 covers 8 to 30 mm. Older tables list 33 to 100 mm from the 1977 edition, but they disagree at 55 mm (d3 72 vs 73) and 90 mm (b), so we left them out.
What was skipped?
Length ranges per size and the 33 to 100 mm sizes.
