Step by step
- Pick the length: Choose l1 by torque, e.g. 100 mm for an M12 clamp.
- Pick the type: L has a plain H7 bore d2; N is threaded d1.
- Check the clearance: Allow height h and lever length l2 for the swing, e.g. 50 and 95 mm at 100 mm.
- Match a DIN 99: Length l1 and hub sizes follow DIN 99, so a DIN 6337 can replace a DIN 99 of the same l1.

Worked example: 100 mm lever
A DIN 6337 100 M12 N lever is threaded M12 with an 18.5 mm hub, stands about 50 mm high and reaches about 95 mm to the knob.
Common problems
- Lever ends in the wrong spot: use an adjustable lever instead.
- Knob cracked: don't hammer; replace with a DIN 319 knob.
- Lever loosens on a plain shaft: pin through the hub.
FAQ
What is DIN 6337 used for?
Clamping and adjusting levers with a plastic ball knob for a softer grip than the all-steel DIN 99.
Is there a 200 mm size?
Ganter and Elesa+Ganter note the DIN sheet also lists 200 mm with M24 or B24, but they do not stock it, so it is not in the chart.
What knob does it use?
A black phenolic DIN 319 ball knob on a turned, blackened steel lever.
Are h and l2 exact?
No, both are approximate (≈) in all sources.
