Slotted Raised Countersunk Screw Dimensions (ISO 2010 / DIN 964, M1.6 to M10)

Guide · Updated October 28, 2026

ISO 2010 covers slotted raised countersunk (oval) head screws, M1.6 to M10, product grade A; it replaced DIN 964. Values agree across the ISO 2010:2011 published table and fasten.it (DIN EN ISO 2010:2011). Nominal values; n and t are minimums.

Step by step

  1. Find the thread: Pick the row for your thread size, M1.6 to M10.
  2. Cut the countersink: Use a 90° countersink sized to dk; only the cone k goes below the surface.
  3. Allow for the raise: The domed top stands f above the surface; check clearance.
  4. Pick the screwdriver: Choose a flat blade that fills slot width n and reaches depth t.

ISO 2010 slotted raised countersunk screw dimensions (mm)

Columns: thread d, pitch P, actual head diameter dk max, countersink height k max, raise height f ≈, slot width n min, slot depth t min.

Worked example: M5 cover screw

An M5 ISO 2010 head is 9.3 mm across with a 2.7 mm cone. Cut a 90° countersink to about 9.5 mm; the dome stands about 1.2 mm (f) proud. The slot is at least 1.26 mm wide and 2 mm deep, so use a 1.2 mm flat blade.

Common problems

FAQ

Slotted vs Phillips raised countersunk?

ISO 2010 and ISO 7047 share the same head (dk, k, f); only the drive differs. ISO 7047 uses a cross recess.

Raised vs flat countersunk?

The cone matches ISO 2009 flat slotted; the raised head adds a dome of height f, so it does not sit flush.

Is DIN 964 the same as ISO 2010?

ISO 2010 replaced DIN 964. DIN 964 heads differ from M3 up (e.g. M4 dk 7.5 vs 8.4, M8 14.5 vs 15.8).

Why are some cells a dash?

Sources disagree: M3 dk (5.5 in the ISO table, 5.6 in a catalog) and M1.6 slot depth t (0.64 vs 0.65). Values shown agree in both sources; n is minimum slot width.
