Conical Spring Washer Dimensions (DIN 6796, M2 to M30)

Guide ยท Updated October 28, 2026

DIN 6796 covers conical spring washers for bolted connections, M2 to M30. Hole, OD, thickness and free height agree across a published DIN 6796 table (Depinspro sheet), the Bossard BN 1374 catalog page and the fasteners.eu DIN 6796 table (Aspen Fasteners shows the same table, so it was not counted on its own). Conflicting cells are shown as a dash. Check your supplier for critical work.

  3. Read the OD: d2 is the maximum OD (h14); check it fits the bearing face.
  4. Read the thickness: s is the material thickness.
  5. Check free height: h max is the height as delivered; h min is the least height allowed after the permanent set test.
  6. Order it: Designate as Conical spring washer DIN 6796 - 10 - FSt.

FAQ

What is DIN 6796?

A hardened conical spring washer (420 to 490 HV) for bolted joints, used to keep preload against settling and thermal change.

DIN 6796 vs DIN 127?

DIN 6796 is a solid cone, not split; it is thicker with a larger OD, e.g. M10 is 23 mm OD and 2.5 mm thick.

Why is the M8 h min blank?

Sources disagree: the DIN 6796 table and Bossard give 2.24 mm; fasteners.eu and Aspen give 2.4 mm.

Why is the M18 h max blank?

Sources disagree: the DIN 6796 table and Bossard give 5.8 mm; fasteners.eu and Aspen give 5.6 mm.

What was skipped?

Weights, hole and OD tolerance limits, test loads, M8 h min and M18 h max.
